125 × Glory-of-the-snow

Chionodoxa forbesii 'Luciliae', commonly known as glory-of-the-snow, is a charming early-spring bulb with delicate blue flowers. It is ideal for adding a splash of color to rock gardens, borders, lawns, and areas beneath deciduous trees.

Planting glory-of-the-snow in groups creates a natural carpet of spring color. Its early flowers are also valuable to emerging pollinators, making this small bulb a useful addition to wildlife-friendly planting schemes.

Watering and Care

Water regularly during dry spells and keep the soil moist without allowing it to become waterlogged.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and dead foliage to keep the plant tidy. The leaves naturally die back after flowering.

Location

Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-draining soil. A sheltered location protects the delicate flowers from strong winds.

Tip

Chionodoxa can spread naturally over time. Keep the surrounding area relatively weed-free to give new plants room to establish.
