25 x Ornamental onions 'Purple Sensation'

Allium 'Purple Sensation' is a striking spring-flowering bulb known for its rich purple, globe-shaped flower heads. It is an excellent choice for borders, perennial beds, and naturalistic plantings, where the tall stems create eye-catching height and contrast.

The flowers are also popular in bouquets and dried arrangements, thanks to their distinctive shape and sturdy stems. Their nectar-rich blooms can attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.

Watering and Care

Keep the soil lightly moist during the growing season, particularly during dry spells. Avoid overwatering.

Maintenance

Remove spent flowers to keep the plant looking neat and prevent energy from being directed toward seed production.

Location

Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Plenty of sunlight encourages strong flowering.

Tip

Plant in groups for greater visual impact. The purple flower heads create a beautiful display when several plants bloom together.
