5 × Crown imperials 'Rubra'

Fritillaria 'Rubra' is a striking spring bulb with richly colored red, bell-shaped flowers. Its unusual downward-facing blooms add drama and vertical interest to borders, mixed bulb plantings, and cottage-style gardens.

The distinctive flowers work well alongside softer spring colors and can be used to create contrast within a seasonal planting scheme. Its architectural form makes it a memorable addition to the garden.

Watering and Care

Water regularly during the growing season, especially during dry periods, while avoiding waterlogged soil.

Maintenance

Remove spent flowers and allow the foliage to die back naturally. Remove leaves only after they have completely yellowed.

Location

Choose a sunny location with fertile, well-draining soil.

Tip

Plant bulbs in groups for a more impressive display and provide extra winter protection in colder areas if needed.
