Bear’s Breeches 'Albiflorus'

Acanthus mollis 'Albiflorus' impresses with large, deeply cut glossy green leaves and tall flower spikes carrying numerous pure white flowers. The imposing growth habit gives perennial borders an architectural appearance and creates elegant accents from late spring into summer. This hardy plant thrives in sunny to semi-shaded locations and is frequently visited by bees.

Watering and Care

Acanthus mollis 'Albiflorus' performs best in well-drained garden soil that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, regular watering helps the plant remain healthy and encourages strong flowering. Once established, it becomes more resilient, but consistent care will always result in the most attractive growth.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and damaged foliage on a regular basis to keep the plant looking tidy. Cutting back old stems in spring encourages fresh new growth and helps maintain a neat habit.

Location

A position in full sun or light partial shade is ideal. Rich, loose soil with good drainage allows the plant to develop fully and produce abundant blooms.
