Blue star

Amsonia orientalis is a rare and graceful perennial that produces delicate light blue flowers above a compact mound of attractive foliage in spring. The nectar-rich blooms are eagerly visited by bees and other pollinating insects, adding life and biodiversity to the garden. Throughout the growing season, the slender leaves remain neat and decorative before developing warm golden tones in autumn. Easy to maintain and highly reliable, this variety is ideal for creating long-lasting sunny borders.

Care/Water

Amsonia orientalis requires consistent watering during the growing season. Keep the soil lightly moist but avoid waterlogging, as this can cause root rot. During dry periods, water in the morning or evening to reduce evaporation.

Maintenance

Regularly remove dried leaves and faded flowers. Trim weak or damaged shoots to maintain healthy, vigorous plants. Light spring fertilization supports growth and flower development.

Location

Prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with well-draining, humus-rich soil. Ideal for flower beds, borders, or natural-style gardens, providing decorative height, structure, and color.
