- Easy-care and hardy.
- Attracts bees and butterflies.
- Perfect for rock gardens and lawns.
- Long spring flowering period.
Anemone blanda 'Blue Shades' creates a lively carpet of blue-violet flowers in various shades during spring. The finely divided foliage complements the delicate blooms beautifully and retreats after flowering. This hardy species naturalizes over time and brings recurring spring colour accents beneath trees or in perennial borders.
Watering and Care
Anemone blanda 'Blue Shades' grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.
Maintenance
Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.
Location
A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
