- Blue-violet flowers for spring beds.
- Easy-care and hardy.
- Perfect for borders and perennial beds.
- Attracts pollinators.
- Long spring flowering period.
Anemone 'Blue Star' delights already in early spring with numerous star-shaped sky-blue flowers that open above the finely divided foliage. The low growth habit makes it ideal for rock gardens, woodland edges, and naturalistic plantings. Due to its early flowering period, this hardy perennial provides an important food source for the first bees of the year.
Watering and Care
Anemone 'Blue Star' grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.
Maintenance
Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.
Location
A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
Tip
Anemone 'Blue Star' is an excellent choice for naturalistic borders and mixed perennial plantings. Many varieties are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Anemone 'Blue Star' adds decorative accents to beds with blue flowers. Particularly in spring, it looks fresh and lively in borders and pots.
The plant grows compactly and is ideal for front beds and smaller areas.
