Cylindrical anemone

Anemone cylindrica is a graceful North American perennial valued for its subtle greenish-white flowers and striking cylindrical seed heads that remain decorative long after the blooms have faded. These distinctive seed structures provide texture and visual interest well into autumn, making the plant an attractive feature in naturalistic gardens. It thrives in sunny locations with well-drained soil and develops into a hardy, long-lived perennial that requires very little maintenance. Its understated beauty makes it an excellent addition to prairie-style plantings and wildlife gardens.

Care/Water

Anemone cylindrica requires regular watering during the growing season, especially during dry spells. Keep the soil lightly moist but avoid waterlogging, as this could harm the roots. Water preferably in the morning or evening to minimize evaporation and provide optimal care.

Maintenance

Regularly remove dried leaves and faded flowers to keep the plant neat and healthy. Light spring fertilization promotes vigorous growth and abundant flowering. Trim lightly if necessary to encourage new shoots.

Location

Prefers sunny to partially shaded spots with well-draining, humus-rich soil. Ideal for flower beds, natural gardens, or wild plantings, where the decorative flower structure stands out.
