Mountain everlasting 'Rubra'

Antennaria dioica 'Rubra' forms dense, silvery hairy foliage from which numerous dark pink to purple-red flowers emerge in spring. The low, carpet-forming growth habit is ideal for rock gardens, dry stone walls, and sunny open areas. This hardy perennial brings a natural appearance to the garden and remains attractive thanks to its decorative foliage.

Watering and Care

Antennaria dioica 'Rubra' grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.

Maintenance

Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.

Location

A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
