Hart’s-tongue fern 'Angustifolium'

Asplenium scolopendrium 'Angustifolium' features slender, glossy green fronds that bring a graceful and contemporary appearance to shade gardens. More delicate than the traditional hart's tongue fern, this variety is ideal for woodland borders, shaded beds, and sheltered planting areas. Fertile, evenly moist soil encourages lush foliage that remains attractive throughout the seasons. Excellent winter hardiness ensures this evergreen fern continues to provide structure and colour even during the colder months.

Care/Water

Asplenium scolopendrium 'Angustifolium' requires regular, consistent watering during the growing season. Keep the soil slightly moist at all times, avoid waterlogging, and water especially on hot, dry days in the morning or evening.

Maintenance

Regularly remove dead leaves to encourage fresh growth. Light fertilization in spring supports strong, healthy foliage. Prune only when necessary to maintain the natural shape of the plant.

Location

Prefers partially shaded to shaded spots with humus-rich, well-draining soil. Ideal for shady beds, woodland gardens, or rock gardens where the narrow, dark green foliage is particularly decorative.
