Aster linosyris differs from traditional asters with its brilliant golden-yellow button-like flowers, bringing unique colour and texture to the garden from late summer onward. This upright native perennial thrives in sunny, dry positions with calcareous, well-drained soil and is particularly effective in prairie gardens, gravel beds, and naturalistic landscapes. Its elegant habit blends beautifully with ornamental grasses while supporting bees, butterflies, and many other beneficial insects throughout the flowering period.
Care/Water
Aster linosyris prefers moderate watering. Keep the soil evenly moist, avoid waterlogging, and provide additional watering during dry summer periods to maintain plant health.
Maintenance
Regularly remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Trim old or damaged leaves and apply light spring fertilization for strong shoots and abundant blooms.
Location
Prefers sunny spots with well-draining, humus-rich soil. Perfect for rock gardens, borders, and natural-style gardens where its compact flower clusters can fully develop.
