Rough aster 'August Sky'

Aster radula 'August Sky' begins flowering in late summer with masses of lavender-blue blooms that continue adding colour well into autumn. Compact, bushy growth makes it an excellent choice for sunny perennial borders and smaller garden spaces where reliable performance is appreciated. It establishes well in freely draining soil and requires very little maintenance once mature. The extended flowering period attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects throughout the season.

Care/Water

Aster radula 'August Sky' prefers regular and consistent watering throughout the growing season. Keep the soil moist but avoid waterlogging, which can damage the roots. Water preferably in the morning or late afternoon.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers to prolong the flowering period. Light pruning in spring encourages new growth and rejuvenates the plant. Fertilization in spring can boost flowering performance.

Location

Thrives best in full sun with humus-rich, well-draining soil. Partial shade is tolerated, but full sun brings out the brightest flower colors.

Tip

Apply mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect roots from extreme temperatures. This supports healthy growth and abundant blooms.
