Astilbe 'Etna'

Astilbe arendsii 'Etna' develops striking deep red flower plumes that rise above the dark green, finely divided foliage in summer. The dense clumping growth provides attractive structure even outside the flowering period. This hardy astilbe creates intense colour accents in semi-shaded borders and brings an elegant lightness to the garden.

Watering and Care

Astilbe arendsii 'Etna' grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.

Maintenance

Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.

Location

A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
