Aubrieta ‘Hamburger Stadtpark’ (Aubrieta, Rock Cress) is a compact, mat-forming evergreen perennial with glossy foliage and a burst of lavender-blue flowers in spring.
Its groundcover habit creates lush color across slopes, borders, and containers, spreading with a natural, low-profile presence.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, it offers reliable growth and a cheerful seasonal display that complements garden tones.
Care & Watering
Aubrieta 'Hamburger Stadtpark' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Water deeply during droughts, but avoid waterlogged roots; let the soil dry between waterings. A light spring feed helps with blooming.
Location & Maintenance
Plant in sunny borders or rock gardens; keep compact by light shearing after flowering and remove spent blossoms to encourage repeat bloom and tidy growth.
Tips
Ensure good drainage, mulch lightly, and propagate by summer cuttings for a newer, vigorous bed.
Aubrieta ‘Hamburger Stadtpark’ forms a colorful carpet of violet-blue flowers and a soft leaf texture, a striking decorative accent in spring collections. As an early, exuberant spring bloomer, it provides fresh color and deep texture for compositions with stone and gravel. Categories: perennial, garden plant, other, rock and wall gardens.
