Rock cress 'Whitewell Gem'

Aubrieta 'Whitewell Gem' transforms rock gardens and wall tops into a carpet of vibrant violet-blue flowers in spring. The evergreen, dense foliage forms low cushions and remains decorative throughout the year. This hardy perennial is an excellent ground cover for sunny locations and is highly appreciated by bees.

Watering and Care

Aubrieta 'Whitewell Gem' grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.

Maintenance

Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.

Location

A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
