Care & Water

Water deeply at the roots, keep the soil evenly moist, and avoid wetting the foliage. In spring and summer, water regularly and mulch to retain moisture. Use acidic, well‑draining soil for best blue color.

Maintenance

Prune after flowering, removing old wood to stimulate new shoots. Light annual shaping keeps the plant balanced. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring for steady growth.

Location

Plant in part shade to morning sun with rich, moist, well‑drained soil. Protect from harsh afternoon sun. For blue flowers, maintain acidic soil (pH below 5.5) and provide consistent moisture.

Tips

Mulch annually, deadhead faded blooms, and monitor for powdery mildew. In winter, protect the crown in colder climates with a light cover.
