Water & Care

Boxwood prefers evenly moist soil in spring and summer with deep, infrequent watering. Let the top inch dry before watering again and avoid soggy soil. Mulch to retain moisture and protect roots.

Maintenance

Prune lightly after active growth, remove dead wood, and inspect for pests. Use clean tools and avoid heavy cuts in late summer to protect next year’s growth.

Position

Place in a sheltered spot with sun to partial shade. Boxwood tolerates sun but dislikes harsh afternoon glare and strong winds. Ensure good drainage.

Tips

Feed in spring with a balanced fertilizer, monitor for blight and pests, refresh soil if needed, and water foliage to avoid disease while keeping leaves dry.
