- Tall, pyramidal bellflowers for perennial borders.
- Easy-care and hardy.
- Attracts bees and butterflies.
- Perfect for gardens with vertical interest.
- Long summer flowering period.
Campanula pyramidalis develops impressive tall flower stems covered with countless blue-violet bell-shaped flowers that gradually open throughout summer. The stately growth habit creates striking vertical accents in borders and cottage gardens. The fresh green foliage forms a strong base, while the abundant flowers are highly attractive to bees.
Watering and Care
Campanula pyramidalis grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.
Maintenance
Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.
Location
A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
Tip
Campanula pyramidalis is an excellent choice for naturalistic borders and mixed perennial plantings. Many varieties are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Campanula pyramidalis adds decorative accents to beds with violet flower spikes. Ideal for tall perennial beds, borders, or garden backgrounds.
The plant grows upright and adds vertical height to the bed.
