Care and Watering
Carex panicea prefers moist, well-drained soil and thrives in wetlands or boggy beds. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged; water when the top inch of soil dries. In dry spells, occasional deep watering helps.
Maintenance
Remove dead foliage, divide clumps every 3–4 years, and tidy seeds after flowering. Avoid heavy pruning; just trim frost-damaged leaves in early spring.
Location
Plant in sun to light shade with consistently moist soil—great near ponds, streams, or water features. Repot only if in containers, ensuring good drainage.
Tips
Mulch to retain moisture, use acidic to neutral soil, and group with other moist-loving plants for a natural display.
