Musk turtlehead

Chelonopsis moschata stands out with its striking violet-pink tubular flowers that provide rich colour from late summer into autumn. Fresh green foliage creates an attractive contrast with the large blooms, enhancing the plant's elegant appearance. It thrives in humus-rich, consistently moist soil and performs best in partially shaded locations, bringing vibrant colour when many other perennials have already finished flowering.

Care/Water

Chelonopsis moschata requires regular watering during the growing season. Keep the soil evenly lightly moist, especially on hot summer days. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to extend the blooming period. Lightly cut back after flowering to encourage fresh growth. This care keeps the plant healthy and compact.

Location

Prefers sunny to partially shaded spots. Ideal for perennial borders, beds, and natural-style gardens. Well-drained soil supports strong root development.
