Chicory

Cichorium intybus delights with bright sky-blue flowers that open from summer into autumn on upright, branched stems. The elongated dark green foliage highlights the natural character of this native wild perennial. It is perfectly suited for natural gardens and wildflower plantings and provides bees and butterflies with an abundant source of nectar.

Watering and Care

Cichorium Intybus grows best in well-drained soil that remains lightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, additional watering helps maintain healthy growth and abundant flowering. Avoid overly wet conditions, as constantly saturated roots may reduce plant vigor.

Maintenance

Regularly removing faded flowers helps extend the display and keeps the plant looking tidy. Old stems and foliage can be cut back in early spring to encourage fresh new growth.

Location

A position in full sun or partial shade provides ideal growing conditions. Good light levels combined with suitable soil will encourage strong growth and reliable flowering.
