Its spreading habit forms a low, resilient patch that tolerates a range of soils and conditions, growing steadily in sun or light shade. This variety is valued for hardy growth and soil enrichment, making it a reliable, garden-friendly choice.

Care

Creeping Comfrey (Symphytum grandiflorum) prefers moist, rich, well-drained soil with part shade to sun. Mulch and prune after flowering.

Watering

Water deeply in dry spells; top 2–3 cm should dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogging.

Maintenance

Trim dead growth, divide every few years, feed lightly in spring.

Location

Plant where it can spread; sheltered border, away from frost pockets.

Tips

Use root barriers to control spread; harvest leaves for mulch or compost tea.
