In spring it bears fragrant flowers and forms a rapid spreading carpet for quick landscape fill.
Hardy and versatile, it tolerates sun or light shade and creates an enduring evergreen mat.
Care and Watering
Mazus reptans enjoys moist, well-drained soil and weekly watering in dry spells, avoiding waterlogging. Mulch lightly in hot summers and water at ground level to prevent wet foliage.
Maintenance
Trim back after flowering to encourage dense re-growth; remove dead stems and divide every few years to maintain vigor.
Location
Plant in full sun to partial shade; it prefers cool roots and can spill over edges, making it ideal for borders and rock gardens.
Tips
Use a light, fertile soil; allow creeping stems to root at nodes; deadheading boosts flowering; protect from winter frost in cold regions.
