It thrives on dry, calcareous soils and adds authentic charm to wildflower meadows, prairie gardens, and naturalistic plantings.
Care/Water
Dianthus carthusianorum requires regular watering during the growing and flowering season. Soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-drained. Extra watering is essential during dry periods.
Maintenance
Regularly remove old flowers and dead plant parts. Light pruning after flowering promotes new shoots and compact growth. Spring fertilization supports strong plants and beautiful flowers.
Location
Prefers sunny to partially shaded spots with well-drained soil. Ideal for rock gardens, borders, and beds. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root damage.
