Sarcococca hookeriana humilis Dwarf Sweet Box is a compact evergreen shrub with glossy leaves and fragrant winter blossoms. It forms a neat mound, ideal for borders or underplanting, adding year‑round presence without taking over. This plant is shade-tolerant and low-growing, thriving in cool, damp garden spots where few others will flourish. Its delicate scent and evergreen habit bring understated charm to any landscape, adapting easily to a range of soils and conditions.

Care & Watering

Sarcococca hookeriana humilis prefers partial shade and rich, well-drained soil. Water moderately to keep the top inch moist, then allow a slight dry spell between drinks; avoid waterlogged pots or heavy clay. Mulch to retain moisture.

Maintenance

Prune after flowering to maintain shape, remove dead wood, and tidy spent blooms. Feed lightly in spring with a balanced fertilizer if growth slows.

Location & Tips

Plant under evergreen canopies or along shaded borders for winter fragrance. In pots, choose a sheltered spot; protect from harsh winds and cold, and mulch in winter to insulate roots.
