Agave-leaved sea holly

Eryngium agavifolium stands out with its long, sword-shaped leaves that resemble an agave due to their distinctive growth habit. In summer, impressive greenish-white flower heads appear and give the plant an exotic appearance. This exceptional sea holly prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils and provides striking structure in the garden.

Care/Water

Eryngium agavifolium requires regular watering, especially during the first years of growth. Keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging, which can damage the roots. Occasional extra watering is beneficial during hot periods.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and damaged shoots to keep the plant healthy and attractive. Lightly prune old stems after flowering to encourage new growth. Light spring fertilization supports strong foliage and blooms.

Location
