- Bright yellow, fragrant flowers.
- Easy-care and drought-tolerant.
- Blooms from summer to autumn.
- Attractive to bees and butterflies.
- Ideal for dry meadows and rock gardens.
Galium verum is distinguished by its masses of golden-yellow flowers that release a pleasant fragrance during summer while adding natural beauty to the garden. The airy flower clusters float above the narrow foliage and attract butterflies and wild bees in abundance. This native wild perennial thrives in dry, sunny locations with well-drained soil.
Care/Water
Galium verum prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil kept moderately moist. During dry periods, water regularly to promote healthy shoots and abundant blooms.
Maintenance
Regularly remove faded flowers to extend flowering and encourage new growth. Light pruning after flowering supports a dense, healthy plant.
Location
Prefers sunny locations. Perfect for borders, natural gardens, or herb gardens where the yellow flowers are highly visible.
Tip
Mulch around the base to retain moisture and reduce weeds. This eases maintenance and encourages a long flowering season.
Galium verum delights with yellow-green flower umbels, adding texture and structure to beds. Ideal for naturalistic gardens.
