  • Bright pink flowers with compact growth.
  • Blooms from early to mid-summer.
  • Hardy and easy-care.
  • Perfect for rock gardens and borders.
  • Attracts bees.

Geranium sanguineum 'Elke' stands out with striking pink flowers highlighted by a crisp white centre, creating an elegant contrast. Its compact growth forms dense cushions, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, border edges, and sunny beds. In autumn, the foliage develops rich red tones, adding extra seasonal interest.

Care/Water

Geranium sanguineum 'Elke' thrives in well-drained soil that remains slightly moist without becoming waterlogged. During prolonged dry periods, regular watering helps maintain healthy foliage and encourages continuous flowering.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and dead plant parts regularly to keep the plant looking neat and well cared for. Cutting back after the main flowering period promotes compact growth and may encourage a second flush of blooms.

Location

Prefers a sunny to partially shaded position with sufficient light throughout the day. Ideal for borders, beds, and natural-style gardens with loose, well-drained soil.

Tip

Applying a layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weed growth. This also improves soil structure and reduces overall maintenance.

Geranium sanguineum 'Elke' blooms with intense pink flowers, providing a striking and lively accent to borders and rock gardens. Its compact foliage makes it ideal for various combinations.
