Halimiocistus sahucii

Halimiocistus sahucii impresses with its pure white flowers and silvery hairy foliage, bringing a Mediterranean atmosphere to the garden. Its compact growth makes it ideal for rock gardens, gravel beds, and sunny slopes, remaining attractive even during dry summers. This low-maintenance plant thrives in warm, well-drained locations.

Care/Water

Halimiocistus sahucii prefers well-drained, calcareous soil that is kept evenly moist during the growing season but avoids waterlogging. Regular watering during hot summer months is important to maintain healthy foliage and abundant blooms without causing root rot.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to keep the plant tidy and prolong flowering. Light pruning after flowering encourages new shoots and keeps the plant compact and vigorous.

Location

Prefers sunny, sheltered spots with good air circulation. Perfect for dry beds, rock gardens, or Mediterranean-style plantings where the plant can develop its compact, upright growth habit.

Tip

Mulching with gravel or mineral substrate helps regulate moisture and suppress weeds. It also improves long-term soil structure and makes summer maintenance easier.

Halimiocistus sahucii blooms with small, delicate flowers, providing a subtle and elegant accent in rock gardens and sunny borders. Its foliage forms a calm base for the floral display.
