Tall daylily

Hemerocallis altissima is distinguished by its tall, elegant flower stems carrying large yellow blooms that bring natural grace to the garden. Its upright habit makes it an excellent structural plant for naturalistic plantings and spacious perennial borders. Winter hardy and long-lived, it thrives best in sunny positions.

Care/Water

Hemerocallis altissima requires regular watering throughout the growing and flowering season, especially on hot days, to maintain the bright yellow flowers and healthy foliage. The soil should be well-drained, humus-rich, and evenly moist to protect the roots and promote abundant flowering.

Maintenance

Regular removal of faded flowers and old leaves keeps the plant vigorous and encourages new bud formation. Light pruning after flowering supports a compact growth habit and ensures abundant blooms the following year.

Location

Prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with humus-rich, well-drained soil. Perfect for borders, flowerbeds, or natural-style gardens, as the bright yellow flowers lighten the garden and create striking color accents.
