Daylily 'Black Prince'

Hemerocallis 'Black Prince' captivates with velvety dark red flowers featuring an almost black centre that gives them a particularly elegant appearance. Fresh blooms open day after day for many weeks, creating rich colour throughout the flowering season. This daylily thrives in sunny locations and is highly valued for its outstanding robustness.

Care/Water

Hemerocallis 'Black Prince' should be watered regularly during the growing and flowering season, especially during warm summer days. The soil should be well-drained and humus-rich to prevent waterlogging that could harm the roots, while remaining evenly moist.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers and dead leaves to maintain a healthy plant and continuous blooming. Light pruning after flowering helps keep the plant compact and encourages new flower shoots.

Location

Prefers a sunny location but can also grow in partial shade. Perfect for borders, flowerbeds, and natural plantings, as the dark purple blooms provide striking contrast and add depth to the garden.

Tip

A layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture and reduces weed growth. Hemerocallis 'Black Prince' attracts bees and is easy to maintain, making it suitable even for beginner gardeners.
