Meet Blue Angel Hosta, a standout cultivar of Hosta. Commonly known as the Plantain Lily, it offers broad blue‑green leaves with bold veining and an elegant, arching form. This hardy perennial thrives in shade and brings a cool, tranquil presence to borders and woodland beds. With its lush foliage and gentle seasonal bloom, Blue Angel makes a confident, timeless addition to any garden.

Care and Watering

Keep Blue Angel in evenly moist, well-drained soil. Water deeply at the base about once a week; reduce in cooler periods. Mulch to retain moisture and prevent crown rot.

Maintenance

Remove dead leaves in autumn, divide every 3–4 years, and feed lightly with balanced fertilizer in spring.

Location

Best in partial shade or bright dappled shade; avoid harsh afternoon sun on blue foliage. Plant in rich, humus‑rich soil with good drainage.

Tips

Mulch annually, water early, monitor for slugs, and enjoy the blue‑green, wide leaves that brighten shady borders.

Hosta ‘Blue Angel’ Hartlelie is an impressive eye-catcher with large, relaxed leaves that immediately enrich garden edges and borders.
