Bearded iris 'Glacier'

Iris germanica 'Glacier' delights with large, pure white flowers that bring freshness and elegance to the garden. The gently ruffled blooms appear in late spring on sturdy stems, contrasting beautifully with the grey-green sword-shaped foliage. This hardy bearded iris brightens sunny borders and perennial beds and combines perfectly with colourful companion plants.

Care/Water

This Iris needs consistent watering, especially during warm spring and summer months. Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but never allow standing water around the roots. Excess moisture can cause root damage and weaken the plant. During longer dry periods, early morning watering is recommended.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers as soon as possible to prevent unnecessary energy loss. Yellow or damaged leaves can also be trimmed regularly. Light pruning after flowering helps maintain a strong and healthy plant structure.

Location

A sunny location is essential for healthy growth and reliable flowering. Choose an open spot with good air circulation. This helps reduce moisture buildup on leaves.

Tip

Loosen the soil around the base from time to time to improve water absorption. A light mulch layer helps retain moisture and keeps maintenance simple.

Iris germanica 'Glacier' combines fresh green foliage with delicate flowers that provide a soft accent in borders. The foliage supports the blooms and keeps the plant healthy and graceful.
