Bearded iris 'Raspberry Candle'

Iris germanica 'Raspberry Candle' fills the early summer garden with rich raspberry and purple tones. Large flowers are produced abundantly on sturdy stems, contrasting beautifully with the narrow grey-green foliage. This hardy bearded iris creates vibrant focal points in sunny plantings and pairs especially well with silver-leaved perennials and ornamental grasses.

Care/Water

The Iris 'Raspberry Candle' requires consistent watering, especially during hot and dry periods. The soil should be well-drained to prevent standing water. Consistent moisture promotes strong roots and healthy foliage. Morning watering protects leaves and flowers from drying out and heat.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers and old leaves to maintain plant vitality. Trim damaged leaves and remove old shoots. Light pruning after flowering ensures compact plants and abundant blooms next year.

Location

This Iris thrives in a sunny, well-ventilated location. Partial shade is tolerated but reduces flowering. An open location protects the plant from fungal diseases and encourages healthy shoots.

Tip

Loosen the soil regularly and apply a thin mulch layer to retain moisture and nutrients. This keeps the plant healthy and makes maintenance much easier.

Iris germanica 'Raspberry Candle' offers fresh foliage with flowers that give borders a lively and striking accent. The foliage supports the blooms and keeps the plant healthy and attractive.
