Care and Watering

Water deeply to keep iris rhizomes moist but not soggy. Maintain even moisture in growing season and reduce after flowering. Avoid waterlogged soil in winter.

Choose full sun to light shade with rich, well-drained soil. Amended clay or heavy soil with compost helps. A spot near a pond or moisture where possible boosts bloom.

Maintenance and Tips

Mulch to conserve moisture, divide every 3–4 years after bloom, and remove dead leaves. Watch for iris borers. Tip: plant rhizomes shallowly, just under the soil surface for Rose Queen’s best display.
