Kalimeris 'Alba'

Kalimeris incisa 'Alba' produces abundant pure white flowers with bright yellow centres from summer into autumn, resembling delicate small asters. This loosely growing perennial brings a natural lightness to sunny borders and mixed beds. Its exceptionally long flowering season provides an important food source for bees and butterflies. Fresh green foliage creates a harmonious backdrop for the elegant blooms.

Care/Water

Kalimeris incisa 'Alba' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially on hot summer days. The soil should be slightly moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to support strong shoots, healthy foliage, and long flowering periods. Water at the roots and avoid wet foliage to prevent fungal problems. Consistent watering promotes abundant flowers and healthy plants.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers so the plant can focus its energy on new buds. Trim old or damaged leaves to encourage healthy growth. Use organic fertilizer in spring to support flowering and strong plants. Check the plant regularly for pests or diseases.

Location

This Kalimeris grows best in a sunny location with good air circulation. Partial shade is possible but may reduce flowering. Ensure the soil is well-drained to prevent root rot. Open locations promote vigorous shoots and healthy foliage.

Tip

A helpful tip is to apply a mulch layer after flowering to retain moisture and nutrients. This makes maintenance easier and supports healthy plants for the next flowering season. Regular checks keep the plant vital and healthy.
