Kalimeris 'Charlotte'

Kalimeris incisa 'Charlotte' produces masses of delicate lavender-blue flowers from July through September, giving the garden a light and airy appearance. This upright perennial branches well to form loose clumps of fresh green foliage. It blends beautifully into naturalistic perennial borders and is frequently visited by bees and other pollinators throughout its long flowering season.

Care/Water

Kalimeris incisa 'Charlotte' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially during warm or dry weather. The soil should always be slightly moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to support strong shoots and healthy foliage. Water directly at the roots and avoid wetting the foliage to prevent fungal issues. Consistent watering supports healthy plants and abundant flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers so the plant can focus its energy on new growth. Trim old or damaged leaves to encourage healthy development. Use organic fertilizer in spring to support flowering and strong plants. Check the plant regularly for pests or diseases.

Location

This Kalimeris grows best in a sunny location with good air circulation. Partial shade is possible but may reduce flowering. Ensure the soil is well-drained to prevent root rot. Open locations promote vigorous shoots and healthy foliage.

Tip

A practical tip is to apply a mulch layer after flowering to retain moisture and nutrients. This makes maintenance easier and supports healthy plants for the next flowering season. Regular checks keep the plant vital and healthy.
