Its loose upright stems sway gracefully among ornamental grasses and other summer-flowering perennials. With its natural appearance, it is perfectly suited to wildlife-friendly gardens. The long flowering period provides a valuable nectar source for bees and butterflies.

Care/Water

Knautia macedonica 'Red Knight' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially during warm and dry weather. The soil should always be slightly moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to support strong shoots and healthy foliage. Water directly at the roots and avoid wetting the foliage to prevent fungal issues. Consistent watering ensures healthy plants and abundant flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers so the plant can focus its energy on new growth. Trim old or damaged leaves to encourage healthy development. Use organic fertilizer in spring to support flowering and strong plants. Check the plant regularly for pests or diseases.

Location

This Knautia grows best in a sunny location with good air circulation. Partial shade is possible but may reduce flowering. Ensure the soil is well-drained to prevent root rot. Open locations promote vigorous shoots and healthy foliage.
