Lavandin 'Alba'

Lavandula intermedia 'Alba' offers elegant pure white flower spikes that create a fresh and refined appearance in the garden. This vigorous lavender produces long flower stems above silvery grey-green foliage while filling the air with a strong fragrance. Blooming from midsummer into late summer, it attracts numerous pollinators. Its upright habit makes it an excellent choice for larger borders and scented gardens.

Care/Water

Lavandula intermedia 'Alba' requires consistent watering during the growing season, especially on dry, hot days. The soil should be well-drained, humus-rich, and slightly alkaline to support strong shoots and healthy blooms. Water at the base and avoid wetting the foliage to prevent fungal issues. Consistent watering ensures healthy plants and prolonged flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new shoots. Light pruning in spring and after flowering promotes a compact form and healthy plants. Organic fertilizer supports growth and flower development. Check regularly for pests.

Location

This lavender prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with well-drained soil. Partial shade can be tolerated but may result in less abundant flowering. Open locations promote healthy plants, strong shoots, and rich blooms.

Tip

After flowering, apply a mulch layer around the base to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Regular removal of faded blooms keeps the plant healthy and extends the flowering period through summer.
