Tree mallow 'Lilac Lady'

Lavatera 'Lilac Lady' delights with large silky flowers in a soft lilac shade that bloom continuously throughout the summer. Its bushy habit and fresh green foliage create a lush display in sunny borders. The abundant open flowers provide a rich source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. With its exceptionally long flowering season, this mallow adds vibrant colour to the garden.

Care/Water

Lavatera 'Lilac Lady' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially in warm, dry weather. The soil should be well-drained, nutrient-rich, and slightly moist to support strong shoots and lush blooms. Water at the base to avoid wetting foliage, and maintain consistent moisture during flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new shoots. Light pruning after flowering keeps the plant compact and healthy. Organic fertilizer in spring supports strong blooms and vigorous growth. Check regularly for pests to maintain long-term plant health.

Location

This Lavatera prefers sunny locations with well-drained soil. Partial shade is tolerated but may reduce flower abundance. Open, lightly sheltered spots promote healthy plants, strong shoots, and long-lasting flowering throughout summer.

Tip

After flowering, lightly prune the plant and apply mulch around the base to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Regular removal of faded blooms extends flowering and keeps the plant healthy.

Lavatera 'Lilac Lady' displays fresh foliage and delicate lilac blooms, adding lively accents to beds and borders. The foliage supports the flowers and ensures a vital plant.
