Shasta daisy 'Banana Cream'

Leucanthemum superbum 'Banana Cream' stands out with its unusual soft creamy yellow flowers that gradually fade to almost pure white as they mature. This unique colour transformation creates a dynamic floral display throughout the summer. The upright, hardy perennial is perfect for sunny borders, cottage gardens, and naturalistic plantings. Its open flowers provide a valuable food source for many beneficial insects.

Care/Water

Leucanthemum superbum 'Banana Cream' requires consistent watering during the growing season, especially in warm, dry weather. The soil should be nutrient-rich, well-drained, and slightly moist to support strong shoots and lush blooms. Water at the base and avoid wetting foliage to prevent fungal diseases. Consistent moisture supports healthy, long-lasting flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new shoots. Light pruning after flowering keeps the plant compact and healthy. Organic fertilizer in spring promotes strong blooms and healthy shoots. Check the plant regularly for pests.

Location

This Leucanthemum prefers sunny locations with well-drained soil. Partial shade is tolerated but may reduce flower abundance. Open, lightly sheltered spots promote healthy plants, strong shoots, and long-lasting flowering throughout summer.

Tip

After flowering, lightly prune and apply mulch around the base to retain moisture, reduce weeds, and keep the plant healthy.
