The blooms appear on upright stems during summer and attract many pollinators. This hardy perennial thrives in moist borders, woodland edges, and waterside plantings, where its vigorous growth makes a bold statement.

Care/Water

Ligularia dentata 'Midnight Lady' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially in warm weather. The soil should be moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to develop healthy leaves and strong flower spikes. Water at the base and avoid wetting foliage to prevent fungal diseases. Consistent moisture supports vitality and ensures lush summer flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to direct energy toward new shoots. Light pruning after flowering keeps the plant compact and healthy. Organic fertilizer in spring supports strong leaves and sturdy flower spikes. Check the plant for pests.

Location

This Ligularia prefers partially shaded to shaded locations with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogging as it can damage the roots. Open, airy spots promote strong leaves and healthy plants.
