Verzorging / Water
Water deeply during dry spells, especially after planting. Mulch to retain moisture and keep soil evenly moist, not soggy. Apply a light spring fertilizer if growth is weak.
Onderhoud
Prune right after flowering to shape and remove dead wood. Lilacs bloom on old wood, so avoid heavy cuts; limit to about a third of last year’s growth.
Standplaats
Plant in full sun on rich, well‑drained soil. Space 2–3 m apart and ensure good air circulation to reduce mildew and pests.
Tips
Water and feed sparingly after bloom. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage vigor and enjoy the perfume of a strong spring display.
