Alpine catchfly 'Rosea'

Lychnis alpina 'Rosea' produces numerous bright pink flowers in late spring that float above compact cushions of narrow foliage. This low-growing alpine perennial is ideal for rock gardens, alpine plantings, and sunny dry locations. Its colourful blooms attract bees and other pollinators while adding fresh colour among stones and gravel.

Care/Water

Lychnis alpina 'Rosea' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially in dry conditions. The soil should be moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to promote strong flower stems and healthy foliage. Water at the base and avoid wetting the leaves to prevent fungal diseases. Consistent moisture supports lush flowering and healthy plants.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to encourage new blooms. After flowering, old shoots can be cut back to promote next year’s growth. Organic fertilizer supports strong flowers and healthy foliage. Check the plant regularly for pests.

Location

Lychnis alpina 'Rosea' grows best in sunny to partially shaded locations with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root damage. Open, airy spots promote strong plants and a long flowering period.

Tip

Lightly mulch around the base to retain moisture and support root development. This extends the flowering period and promotes strong, healthy plants.

Lychnis alpina 'Rosea' features rich green foliage and delicate pink flowers, gently accenting beds and perennial borders. The foliage supports the flowers and ensures healthy plants.
