Common mallow 'Zebrina'

Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina' stands out with striking pink flowers decorated with bold deep purple stripes. From June through September, masses of large blooms provide vibrant colour throughout the garden. Its relaxed growth habit blends beautifully into naturalistic borders and cottage gardens. The nectar-rich flowers offer an excellent food source for many pollinating insects.

Care/Water

Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina' requires regular watering during the growing season, especially in dry and warm weather. The soil should be moist, well-drained, and nutrient-rich to support strong flowers and healthy foliage. Water at the base and avoid wetting the leaves to prevent fungal diseases. Consistent moisture promotes healthy plants and lush flowering.

Maintenance

Regularly remove faded flowers to stimulate new blooms. Cut back old or damaged shoots to encourage fresh growth. Organic fertilizer supports strong flowers and healthy foliage. Check the plant regularly for pests.

Location

Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina' prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root damage. Open spots promote healthy plants and long flowering periods.

Tip

Mulch around the base helps retain moisture and keep roots cool. This supports strong plants and extends flowering time.

Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina' features striped foliage and decorative flowers, vividly accenting beds and borders. The foliage supports flower development and ensures healthy plants.
