Purple moor grass 'Aha-Erlebnis'

Molinia arundinacea develops impressive upright clumps of slender fresh green foliage topped with elegant, airy flower panicles in summer. During autumn, the leaves turn rich shades of gold and orange, creating a spectacular seasonal display. This hardy ornamental grass adds height, movement, and natural elegance to sunny perennial borders and prairie-style gardens.

Care/Water

Molinia arundinacea requires regular watering during the growing season, especially in warm weather or dry periods. The soil should be evenly moist, well-drained, and humus-rich to support strong growth of the slender stems and optimal development of the attractive, loose flower plumes. Consistent moisture promotes healthy, decorative plants.

Maintenance

Remove dead foliage in late winter or early spring. Prune lightly to maintain the natural growth habit. Organic fertilization in spring encourages strong shoots and abundant flowering. Regularly check for pests or diseases to ensure healthy development.

Location

Molinia arundinacea prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged conditions to prevent root damage. An open site encourages stable plants and the development of attractive flower plumes.

Tip

Mulch the soil to retain moisture and reduce weeds. This variety is perfect for ornamental grass borders, natural-style plantings, or as a structural element in your garden.
