Purple moor grass 'Poul Petersen'

Molinia caerulea 'Aha-Erlebnis' features an elegant upright habit with fine flower panicles that rise gracefully above the foliage in summer. The slender leaves turn rich golden yellow in autumn, providing lasting structure well into winter. This hardy variety brings lightness, movement, and natural beauty to sunny perennial borders and informal garden designs.

Care/Water

Molinia caerulea 'Aha-Erlebnis' requires regular and consistent watering during the growing season, especially during dry periods. The soil should be moist, humus-rich, and well-drained to support strong stems and dense, elegant flower plumes. Consistent moisture promotes healthy development and enhances the plant’s visual appeal.

Maintenance

Remove dead foliage in late winter or early spring. Prune lightly to maintain the natural, upright growth habit. Organic fertilization in spring supports healthy shoots, strong stems, and abundant flowering. Regularly check for pests or diseases.

Location

'Aha-Erlebnis' prefers sunny to partially shaded locations with moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged areas, as this can damage the roots. An open site ensures healthy, strong plants with elegant flower plumes.

Tip

Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. This variety is perfect for grass borders, natural-style gardens, or as a specimen plant to create decorative accents and movement in the wind.
