Bee balm 'Lederstrumpf'

Monarda bradburiana flowers as early as late spring, producing delicate pinkish-lavender blooms decorated with attractive purple speckles. Its compact growth and early flowering distinguish it from many other bee balms. The aromatic foliage remains attractive throughout the season and often develops reddish autumn tones. Its flowers are eagerly visited by bees and bumblebees.

Care/Water

Monarda bradburiana requires consistent watering during the growing season, especially in warm and dry periods. The soil should be well-drained, moist, and humus-rich to develop strong stems, healthy foliage, and abundant flowering. Consistent moisture supports healthy plants and prolongs flowering.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers regularly to extend flowering. Prune the plant after blooming to encourage new shoots and a compact growth habit. Organic fertilization in spring supports vigorous plants and abundant blooms. Check for pests such as aphids and spider mites to maintain healthy plants.

Location

'Bradburiana' prefers a sunny location with well-drained soil. Partial shade is possible, but full sun ensures the best flowering. Good air circulation reduces fungal diseases and promotes healthy plants.
