Crocosmia ‘Emberglow’ Montbretia is a striking perennial with arching stems and glowing orange-red flowers. Its compact clump-forming habit makes a bold, vibrant blooms centerpiece in sunny spots.
Glossy green foliage and tall flower spikes add seasonal color, drawing in pollinators and brightening beds with natural charm. This cultivar stands out for its tropical appeal and easy presence.
Thriving in sun to light shade and well-drained soil, it brings warmth to borders and natural areas, delivering sustained color through midsummer.
Care and watering
Water Crocosmia 'Emberglow' regularly during growth, keeping soil evenly moist but not soggy. Let the topsoil dry slightly between waterings and mulch to retain moisture in hot spells.
Location and planting
Plant in a sunny to partly shaded border with well-drained soil. Space clumps to ensure air flow and avoid rhizome rot; protect from excessive winter wet if in colder areas.
Maintenance and tips
Feed lightly in spring, deadhead regularly, and lift or divide crowded clumps every 3–4 years. A light autumn mulch helps frost protection; remove spent blooms for tidier borders.
Crocosmia ‘Emberglow’ Montbretia brings a warm color display with vibrant orange-red spikes and graceful, upward-facing lines that enliven any summer garden space. As a mood-maker and striking color accent, it forms a vivid contrast with evergreen plants and prairie plantings.
Also ideal as a cut flower: the long stems yield colorful bouquets and a long-lasting display of blooms in vases.
