This plant delivers resilient vigor, attracting buzzing pollinators with its bright blooms while staying robust through heat and drought.
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun for steady growth, a compact form, and long-lasting color.
Care and Watering
Moonshine Yarrow (Achillea) loves full sun and well-drained soil. Water deeply at planting, then let roots dry between watering; it tolerates drought but avoid soggy soil for best health.
Maintenance
Deadhead spent blooms to extend flowering and trim lightly in spring to keep a compact, disease-resistant habit.
Location
Choose a sunny, breezy spot with good air circulation to prevent mildew and encourage fragrance.
Tips
Mulch lightly, avoid heavy fertilizer, divide every 3–4 years, and expect modest self-seeding in hot summers.
Achillea ‘Moonshine’ yarrow smooths borders into a gentle sea of lemon-yellow heads. The finely divided leaf texture and flat flower heads give an airy, prairie-like appearance that pairs well with ornamental grasses and perennials.
As a true showstopper in gardens and planting beds, this yarrow is loved for its long bloom and as an insect magnet. Categories: perennials, garden plants, yarrow, spring bloomers, summer bloomers, prairie.
